As early as 2000, the linux documentation project – linuxfaq was a stellar source of information for developers and administrators. Our founder, mkw (marcia kaoru wilbur), worked as a typesetter, editor, proofreader, author and desktop publisher contributing to multiple Linux projects. Her technical writing internship was with the Free Software Foundation. From there, she went to volunteer writing the DMCA blog for the Electronic Frontier Foundation in 2003. With a background in computer science and law she landed a job after college writing Linux Essentials in cooperation with CompTia. This courseware used by universities worldwide took students from 0 to hero. From there, she went on to write for major corporations about Linux, instructing users from get started to running AI demos using pre-trained models.
